Huasca de Ocampo Hidalgo
Its name derives from the Nahuatl Huascazaloyam, meaning “place of birds, water, vegetation and joy,” adopting the “de Ocampo” in honor of the famous politician Melchor Ocampo, who for a short time, lived in this place, after leaving Mexico City because of the repressive policies imposed by President Antonio Lopez de Santa Anna, at the beginning of the second half of the nineteenth century.
It was founded between 1760 and 1780 by Pedro Romero de Terreros, Count of Regla named by the Spanish crown, who built the haciendas of San Miguel Regla, San Francisco Javier, San Antonio Regla and Santa Maria Regla, where gold benefited and silver, was born as a district on January 16, 1869 and as a municipality in 1870.

Sites of Interest
Ex Hacienda San Miguel Regla
It is an eighteenth century building farm profit function as metal.

Ex Hacienda de Santa Maria Regla
